The Feminist Art in Slovenia exhibition is the first comprehensive presentation of feminist art in Slovenia. On display will be the latest as well as the most historic artistic productions in various visual forms of media from videos, photography, prints, knitwear, paintings, sculptures, drawings through to objects and live performances. The exhibition includes the first Slovenian feminist work which dates from the mid-seventies and was formed simultaneously with other feminist art works and artistic practice of the first wave in the USA, Great Britain and their so-called ‘rebounds’ elsewhere around the world. The sculpture »Women are coming!« by Duba Sambolec (1976) was considered to have been destroyed but was rediscovered by the author in 2009.

Within the frame of the exhibition we are announcing a public discussion with exhibition curator Ana Grobler, art historian Barbara Sterle Vurnik and Dr. Tanja Mastnak.
