Exposición "Tres Versiones y una Reparacion"

Norwegian Kristine Fangel established her pension in the Danish island of Bornholm last year. Fangel has experience in working with art and artists both as a former gallerist and as an administrator of an art-school. On the 14th of June she started a new activity: ”Refugiet”. Refugiet is a rebuilt chicken-pen in the garden of the pension. This will serve as a place for artists to work in, make shows in or maybe do something else, this is up to the artists to decide.

Alexis Parra in collaboration with Kristin Bergaust opened the new artist’s refugium with a project called ”Three versions and one reparation”, special guest was Gunnhild Bakke. Alexis Parra worked on rebuilding the Refugium, and the works are related to this process. Two windows were closed in one wall, they are recreated as manipulated photographs of the windows, where you can see the former view from the house with an addition of exotic birds, animals and plants. These elements are derived from 17th century natural history drawings and evokes a past where the knowledge of the world was very limited. A second wall was photographed from the outside, it is marked by plants and neglect over years. The wall is now repaired, and the graphic photograph now covers the inside. The process of restoring the third wall has been documented as a still-image animation of Alexis Parra. The animation shows Parra at work on the wall, seemingly he is at the same time repairing the famous promenade Malecon, Havanna’s border to the sea and the outside world.

Gunnhild Bakke contributed the sign on the outside of the building, as well as her sculpture titled ”In restauro” and the embroidery ”Man må aldri presse en kunstner” (You should never pressure an artist) in collaboration with young Lotte Stender.

Cine pobre Gibara

CUANDO EL PASADO AÑO ME DESPEDÍ DE HUMBERTO SOLÁS EN GIBARA NO PODÍA IMAGINAR QUE NO LE VOLVERÍA A VER.
ME DESPEDÍ CON LA ALEGRÍA DE HABER COMPARTIDO ALGO MÁGICO Y MI COMPROMISO DE VOLVER Y PONER UN MINÚSCULO GRANO DE ARENA EN SU MARAVILLOSO PROYECTO.
LA EXPERIENCIA FUE MARAVILLOSA, CUANDO EN LA INAUGURACIÓN COMPROBÉ "LA COMUNIÓN"DEL PUEBLO CON HUMBERTO Y SU FESTIVAL COMPRENDÍ QUE ESTABA VIVIENDO ALGO ÚNICO.
LA DESGRACIA QUISO QUE LOS HURACANES POR UN LADO Y LA MUERTE DE HUMBERTO DESOLARAN GIBARA Y EL ÁNIMO DE SUS GENTES.

DESDE EL YEMAYÁ ORGANIZAMOS UN DÍA POR CUBA Y SU GENTE. UN GRAN NUMERO DE ESCRITORES MÚSICOS Y ACTORES DE VARIOS PAÍSES ESTUVIERON ACTUANDO GRATIS PARA PEDIR AYUDA PARA CUBA.
FUE DESBORDANTE LA RESPUESTA, MUCHÍSIMA GENTE, AMIGOS UNOS ANÓNIMOS OTROS VINIERON CON BOLSAS CON COMIDA,MEDICINAS O ROPAS

INCLUSO DESDE NORUEGA "PUCHO" HIZO UNA COLECTA QUE DESPUÉS NOS ENVIÓ.
ACUDIMOS CASI INMEDIATAMENTE A CUBA CON UN PRIMER ENVÍO A LA ISLA DE LA JUVENTUD A UN LLAMADO DE KCHO Y KELVIS OCHOA CON LA BRIGADA DE LOS ARTISTAS.

LLEVAMOS CLAVOS, TALADROS,SERRUCHOS,MARTILLOS, ROPA. FUE UNA ODISEA PASARLO PERO LO CONSEGUIMOS. PERO AL LLEGAR A MADRID DE VUELTA NOS ESPERABA EL ALMACÉN DEL BAR HASTA EL TECHO DE BOLSAS QUE ORGANIZAR.
FUE INESTIMABLE LA AYUDA DE AMIGOS COMO JAVI, JOSE LUIS, ANTONIO,BERTA,ROCÍO Y MARINA YA QUE EL TRABAJO DEL BAR Y DE LA ASOCIACIÓN CULTURAL NO CESÓ EN ÉSTOS TIEMPOS.

HICIMOS NUESTRO FESTIVAL DE CINE "A LO CORTICO"CON MÁS DE 250 OBRAS RECIBIDAS EN ÉSTA SU 2ª EDICIÓN Y CON LA SATISFACCIÓN DEL TRABAJO BIEN HECHO (DOS DE NUESTROS PREMIOS FUERON MESES DESPUÉS GANADORES DE SENDOS GOYAS) PRUEBA DE LA CALIDAD DE NUESTRO FESTIVAL.

MIENTRAS EL BAR Y LA ASOCIACIÓN SEGUÍAN SU CURSO NOSOTROS BUSCÁBAMOS LA MANERA DE LLEVAR LA AYUDA A GIBARA.
CONSEGUIMOS QUE MIGUEL ANGEL ALMAGUER DE CUBANA DE AVIACIÓN AUTORIZARA EL ENVÍO, QUE EL MINVEC AUTORIZARA LA ENTRADA A CUBA Y QUE LA ONG OIKOS DISTRIBUYERA LA AYUDA.!NO FUE FÁCIL PERO... LO CONSEGUIMOS!
ADEMÁS LLEVAMOS 2OOO PARES DE ZAPATOS INFANTILES QUE LA ASOCIACIÓN HOMÉRICA DE CUBA NOS HIZO LLEGAR.
Y VOLVIMOS A GIBARA Y SENTIMOS LA EMOCIÓN DEL AÑO ANTERIOR.

NUEVAMENTE EL PUEBLO SE UNIÓ A LA FAMILIA BEMBENUTO SOLÁS Y A LOS ARTISTAS Y A LOS REALIZADORES DE CINE.
LOS ROSTROS TENSOS POR LA FALTA DE HUMBERTO Y UNA GRAN CADENA DE MANOS UNIDAS EN EL DESFILE.
PERO EL ESPÍRITU DEL MAESTRO SE HIZO SENTIR: EL FESTIVAL ESTABA VIVO Y NOSOTROS Y EL PUEBLO ENTERO PARTICIPANDO DE ÉL.

LA OBRA " DÍAS DE NOVIEMBRE" Y LA ALEGRÍA DE LUISA MARIA GIMENEZ Y RENECITO DE LA CRUZ NOS HICIERON COMENZAR CON EL FESTIVAL.

PARA NOSOTROS LA ALEGRÍA DE LA MUESTRA PARALELA DE NUESTRA ASOCIACIÓN Y LA PARTICIPACIÓN DE ALBERTO DE PAZ Y MIGUEL QUE NOS ACOMPAÑARON DESDE CANARIAS Y COMO NO LA MAGNÍFICA VOZ Y MEJOR PERSONA: MARIELLA KÔLL CON LA QUE COMPARTIMOS ACTUACIÓN AUTOCAR Y BOLEROS CON EL GRUPO SÍNTESIS.

One day in Bornholm

On a beautiful spring day in April, we went around Bornholm with Allan in TinesGjestehuz’ car. We started from the guesthouse in Allinge at 11.30 and returned five hours later.

Our first stop was in Gudhjem. We admired the harbour and the beautiful town and want to visit he museum in the home and garden of the painter Oluf Høst next time we go

In the outskirts of Svaneke, we noticed an interesting construction.
Allan told us this was a former water reservoir, designed by the famous architect of the Sydney opera, Jørgen Ützon. It was his first public comission, and it was contoversial in the town at the time of its constuction.

This intimidating construction stands in a green field between two old mills, and is no longer functioning as a water tank. It looks like a giant sculpture and there is no signs to tell you how to get close to it. But it was no problem when we parked the car in a cul-de sac as close as we could get and walked the small footpath in between the brick villas of the area. What is really strange, is that there is no information about what it is and when
and by whom it was constructed.


The two mills in the neighbourhood can be seen from the site of the water-tower. One is a Dutch windmill, the other a so called ”stub mill”- which we decided to look at more closely.By the side of the mill we found excellent information about the history and construction of this impressive functional building from 1629 (or at least 1634) The mill had to be turned around to catch the wind. Imagine how difficult it was to move this big building.The people that built the mill knew a lot about wooden materials. More than five different kinds of wood were used for the many functional parts of the mill.



The watertower and the two mills in Svaneke are all in a housing area outside the old center of the town.



In the historical center, we had lunch in the brewery. They offer a
taste of beer specialities, which Pucho and Kristin tried, while the driver Allan had to remember his earlier knowledge about this local product.




The Danish sandwich menu was tempting and the food was delicious,traditional and fresh at the same time.

Walking through the center, we passed a lottery ticket painted in the street. Allan told us that people bet on a number in the Saturday afternoon. Then a chicken is let loose to walk on the grid of numbers. Where she first make a shit, you find the winning number. We don’t know what happens if the chicken makes a dropping in the borders and crossings..


The beautiful and well-preserved buildings in Svaneke also had an interesting feature Allan made us aware of. Many have a small door in the loft to allow the owner to put the mast of a boat in the top of his house for storage in the winter.Practical!


Svaneke is known to have a strong consciousness about restoring buildings in accordance with the traditions. Colors and materials are kept close to original through communal counselling.


From Svaneke continued to Nexø,a larger town that we passed without stopping except for a short look at the childhood home of the famous writer Martin Andersen Nexø.

We went home through beautifull woods filled with flowers, birds, hares, pheasants and many other enjoyments.


Close to Tines Gjestehuz we saw the ruin of Hammershø which we want to explore more closely next time we come here.

el próximo viernes 16 de abril para aquellos interesados en verla.
Debido a una decisión de la administración del centro han decidido
cerrar todas las exposiciones antes de la fecha prevista, por eso me
he visto obligado a desmontarla antes de tla fecha prevista. Disculpen

podido ver la instalación, habrán notado las grandes dimensiones que
